The Northern Area Interclub Open PDI Competition was held for the first time on Sunday 16^th November 2025. The event was hosted by Cambois Camera Club and the three judges were Alan Porrett, Rob Butler and Peter Maguire.

There were a total of 210 images entered from the 7 clubs in the Northern Area and the competition was well attended by members from all clubs.

After each image was scored the final results were as follows:-

Alnwick – 363
Amble – 374
Ashington – 362
Blyth – 369
Cambois – 341
Morpeth – 374
Wooler – 352

We had a tie for first place between Amble and Morpeth who both scored 374 points. The lowest score from each club was eliminated resulting in Amble PG being declared the winners.

There were 8 images scoring the maximum of 15 points. The judges were asked to choose an overall winner from these images. The Best Image was ‘Storm Brewing’ by Richard Turnbull of Ashington CC.

The Chairman of Amble PG, John Twizell, collected the Trophy on behalf of the club and Malcolm Ross collected the Plate for the Best Overall Image on behalf of Richard Turnbull for Strom Brewing.

Thanks were given to the three judges and to Cambois CC for hosting the competition and providing an excellent spread at the end of the proceedings.

This competition replaces THE NORTHERN AREA KNOCKOUT COMPETITION. This was agreed by all clubs at the Northern Area A.G.M. held on Sunday 16^th February 2025.
