The Northern Area Knockout Competition was initially held on Sunday 24th November 2024. This event was hosted by Wooler Camera Club and the three judges were Glen Lawson, Rob Butler and Geoff Green.
After Round 1 however, and nearly three hours waiting for Round 2 to commence, the competition was abandoned and rescheduled for Sunday 12th January 2025.
The results from Round 1 were carried forward and Round 2, which was the Trophy Semi Final, was held between Alnwick, Amble, Cambois and Morpeth. In 4th place was Cambois with 154 pts; 3rd place was Alnwick with 157 pts; 2nd place was Morpeth with 162 pts and 1st place was Amble with 167 pts. Amble and Morpeth competed for the Trophy and Amble won with 170 pts to Morpeth’s score of 162 pts.
Ashington, Blyth and Wooler, who were the three lowest scoring clubs from Round 1, competed for the Plate. Wooler came 3rd with 157 pts, Ashington came 2nd with 162 pts and the Plate was won by Blyth with 163 pts.
No images gained the highest score of 15 points. One image, ‘Volcanic Landscape, Lanzarote’ by Susan Dawson of Morpeth CC, gained 14 points.

The Trophy was collected by a member of Amble PG and the Plate was collected by Jim Welsh of Blyth PS. On both occasions, Wooler CC provided a very nice spread. Thanks were given to the three judges and to the attending club members for making the journey twice. An enjoyable afternoon was had by all in the end.
