Held on 16th February 2024 and hosted by Whickham Photographic Club.
The 6 South Tyne Area clubs: Gateshead CC, Hexham and District PS, Ryton and District CC, South Shields PS, Whickham PC and Winlaton CC all met at Whickham Community Centre with Whickham PC hosting the event.
It was terrific seeing a full hall with over 50 people present including representatives from every club. Our neutral judge Peter Maguire LRPS, CPAGB, EFIAP, BPE1 from Gosforth CC conducted the evening perfectly with considered judging commentary and remarks, emphasising good work with positive critique for each of the 60 images submitted.

Three PDI’s scored the maximum possible 30 points.

With ‘Fun in the Fret’ being named as Best PDI by Peter.
A terrific spread was laid on by Whickham members, with many guests staying behind to chat and catch-up in a very happy atmosphere.
Next South Tyne event will be the South Tyne Print Competition hosted by Winlaton CC on 19th November with judge Bill Broadley of Blyth PS.
