Alnwick and District Camera Club hosted the annual Northern Area Interclub Print Competition on Wednesday the 17th January 2024. The judge was Stephen Fowler from Ryton and members from all the clubs entered attended the meeting at the Mechanics Institute in Alnwick.
There were 2 sections of the competition – Mono and Colour. The mono competition was judged first and the results were very close with 4 out of the 5 clubs scoring over 100 in total. After a refreshment break, the colour competition played out in a similar way with 3 clubs scoring over 100.
The final results were –
5th Blyth 187 points
4th Wooler 198 points
3rd Morpeth 202 points
2nd Alnwick 213 points
1st Ashington 214 points

A very close finish and Ashington Camera Club was triumphant for the second year in a row – congratulations to all concerned!
The trophy was presented by Laine Baker, president of Alnwick and District Camera Club, to Gordon Harthill from Ashington Camera Club.
Two images scored full marks (30) and both came from Ashington – ‘Night Street’ by Malcolm Roberson (mono) and ‘Cromer Pier’ by Keith Saint (colour). Well done to both photographers!
The judge was thanked for his thoughtful comments on all the images in the competition – it was obvious he had spent a lot of time considering each print carefully. Thank you Stephen!
