The Northern Area Knockout Competition was held on Sunday 26th November. This event was hosted by Ashington Camera Club and the three judges were Alan Porrett ARPS, DPAGB, APAGB, EFIAP, Stuart Skelsey LRPS, CPAGB, BPE1* and Peter Maguire LRPS, CPAGB, EFIAP.
Alnwick, Ashington, Blyth, Morpeth and Wooler took part in the competition. Cambois and Amble were unable to enter this year’s event. After the first round Ashington, Blyth and Morpeth, who were the top 3 scoring clubs, competed for the Trophy. The final scores were Ashington – 182 pts, Blyth – 185 pts, and Morpeth won the Trophy with a score of 190 pts.
Alnwick and Wooler, who were the two lowest scoring clubs from Round 1, competed for the Plate and this was won by Alnwick with 186 pts to Wooler’s 161 pts. Two images gained the highest score of 15 points. They were The One that Got Away by Alison Leddy of Blyth PS and Black Capped Tanager by Graham Sorrie of Morpeth CC.
The competition was attended by all of the clubs who took part and a very nice pooled tea and refreshments were supplied by the host club. Thanks to the members of Ashington Camera Club and the three judges for an enjoyable afternoon.
