3 Way Inter-Club Competition 2023

3 Way Inter-club between Gateshead CC, South Shields PS and Tynemouth PS

The competition was held on 7th of December and was hosted by Gateshead CC

judged by Bill Broadly of Blyth PS

It was a warm welcome to South Shields, as this was their first 3 way competition after taking the place of Sunderland this season.

The weather again played havoc with the attendance, with many not being able to make it due to the heavy rain. So big thanks to all club members who made it.

Bill started the meeting by stating that the quality of prints was high and this was reflected in the scoring

Bills’ judging was good; his comments were sympathetic to the prints on show and offered constructive criticism with a light touch.

As the competition progressed the scores were within 4 points between 1st and 3rd, but Tynemouth came on strong in the latter stages to win the competition with 329 points. Gateshead and South Shields tied with 303 points each.

Tynemouth had 2 images with 30 points, namely ‘Life Belt’ by Peter Stevens and ‘Horse and Castle’ by Ray McIver.

‘Life Belt’ by Peter Stevens
‘Horse and Castle’ by Ray McIver

Bill, who had to choose the best print, decided that Horse and Castle by Ray McIver just nudged it.

Congratulations to the winners and everyone who submitted prints.
