The Wear Area Battle was held on the evening of the 20^th November and five of the region’s clubs each submitted eight PDI images.

The judge for the evening was Rob Butler who provided superb commentary with comprehensive and insightful feedback on the images presented.

Congratulations go to Stanhope Photographic Society who took home the trophy. It was a close run competition with the other clubs, Consett, Washington, Wear Valley and Castleside, all within 6 points of the winners.

The highest scoring image of the evening was awarded to Lynda Golightly of Consett & District Photographic Society with her image “Backs to the storm”.

The evening was held again this year at Consett camera club who were great hosts and provided an excellent evening. Their facilities at Citizen’s House in Consett are ideal for such events and the club provided an excellent supper as well.

This was Consett’s final year hosting the event and it is hoped that Castleside & District Photography Club will pick up the challenge next year.
