The Northern Area Print Competition was held on Wednesday 18th January 2023. The host club was Cambois CC and the judge was Stuart Skelsey.
The winning club was Ashington CC with an overall score of 217.
In 2nd place was Cambois CC with 215, 3rd place was Amble PG with 207, 4th place was Alnwick CC with 206, joint 5th place was Blyth PS and Morpeth CC with 205 and 7th place was Wooler CC with 196.
The scoring was very tight but Ashington CC was well ahead of the rest. Only one print scored 30 points as the Colour and Monochrome prints were judged as one competition. This was ‘True Grit’ by Barry McAlle of Ashington CC:
Ashington CC were congratulated on their win and also for gaining the highest score for their members print. As the trophy had not been brought to the event, arrangements were made for its delivery to Ashington’s Competition Secretary the following day. Thanks were also given to Sturt Skelsey for judging the competition.
The event was very well attended and the host club held a raffle and provided a small buffet afterwards.
