The Northern Area Knockout Competition was held on Sunday 20th November 2022. This event was hosted by Morpeth Camera Club and the three judges were Alan Porrett ARPS, DPAGB, APAGB, EFIAP, David Ord and Peter Maguire LRPS, CPAGB, EFIAP.
Alnwick, Amble, Ashington, Blyth, Morpeth and Wooler took part in the competition. Cambois were unable to enter this year’s event. After the first round Alnwick, Ashington, Blyth and Morpeth competed for the Trophy. The two clubs who made it to the final were Alnwick and Morpeth with Alnwick winning with 192 points to Morpeth’s 188.
Amble and Wooler, who were the two lowest scoring clubs from Round 1, competed for the Plate and this was won by Amble with 173 points to Wooler’s 152. One image gained the highest score of 15 points and this was entitled ‘Smoke gets in your Eyes’ by Karen Broom of Alnwick CC:
The competition was well attended by all of the clubs who took part and a very nice pooled tea and refreshments were supplied by the host club. Thanks to the members of Morpeth Camera Club and the three judges for an enjoyable afternoon.
NORTHERN AREA PRINT COMPETITION
The Northern Area Interclub Colour & Monochrome Print Competition is scheduled to be held on Wednesday 18th January 2023. The host club will be Cambois CC.
